More revenue.
On every marketplace.

Hi, I am Micha

Freelance performance marketing manager based in Berlin. I build and run advertising accounts on Amazon, eBay, Otto, Kaufland and Google — following a rule set of my own rather than gut feeling. For retailers who want to sell, and for service businesses that need enquiries.

Services

What I do — in the order you need it

No off-the-shelf package. I look at where you stand and cut the offer to fit your channels and goals. Usually it is a selection from the list below.

Marketplaces

Amazon Ads

Sponsored Products, Brands and Display. Campaign build, structure and ongoing optimisation — for Seller and Vendor accounts alike. Plus the operational side: FBA replenishment planning, price maintenance, international listings — and the paperwork when Amazon takes a listing down.
SP · SB · SD Seller & Vendor FBA · Pricing · Compliance

eBay Ads

Three campaign types, three logics. I build cluster structures, not a flat percentage campaign.

Further marketplaces

Otto and Kaufland I run on an ongoing basis. Plus Shopify when your own shop runs alongside.
Otto · Kaufland · Shopify

Search & control

Google Ads

Search, Shopping and Performance Max. Clean campaign structure and clear bidding targets — whether the end of the funnel is a sale or an enquiry.
Search · Shopping · PMax

Rule-based bid management

I calculate bids from revenue per click and your target ACOS, not from gut feeling. With upper and lower limits, capped step sizes and a log entry for every change.
Rule set · Bulk · Logged

Listings, content & SEO

Keyword research, titles, bullets, A+ content — in several languages where needed. Plus ad copy and website copy when that is where the lever sits and not in the account.
Amazon · eBay · Otto · Web

Tooling & evidence

Tracking & measurement

Conversion tracking, GA4 and Tag Manager. No algorithm steers properly without clean signals — which is why this comes before everything else.

Analysis & strategy

Monthly reports that prepare a decision instead of stacking numbers. Plus competitor and channel analysis when a new marketplace is on the table.

Automation & tooling

Bulk files, scripts, product data feeds and rule sets. Where a task repeats every week, I would rather build it properly once.
No package fits exactly? I will put together an individual offer — free and without obligation.

Ongoing series

A real account, documented in public

A series that explains eBay Ads from the ground up — throughout on a real account, not a demo environment.

Still from the first episode: the title “eBay Ads starten – No Bullshit Guide #1”, with Michael Hilse giving a thumbs up

eBay Ads – No Bullshit Guide

Watch the first episode

Structure, bids and results episode by episode. Theory first, then the live data — no excerpt, no before-and-after screenshot.

No claim about the platform that I cannot back up. If you want to know how I work, you can watch me before we ever talk.

OctoPilot

Closed beta

eBay only lets you change bids row by row, or across many targets at once. No ACOS logic, no rule-based bulk editing, no clean bulk control.

That is the gap OctoPilot closes — a bid management tool for eBay Sponsored Ads that I am building as a co-founder. The rule set behind it is the same one I run in client accounts.

About me

Michael Hilse

Berlin · Remote or on site

From engineer to performance marketer: after studying industrial engineering at TU Berlin, I quickly realised that what fascinates me most is the intersection of data, strategy and digital sales.

The name AMZing has been around since 2018, back then as a group of freelancers focused on Amazon. Today I run AMZing as a sole proprietor and have extended the offer to eBay, Otto, Kaufland and Google Ads.

For over seven years I have worked with German and international brands and retailers — in German and in English, on accounts across several European countries.

Not every account sells products. Part of my work is for service businesses, where the end of the funnel is an enquiry rather than a shopping cart. Steering those is a different craft — and I know it from both sides.

What “directly with me” actually means

Who answers
I do. No account manager passing things on, no junior team doing the work.
How fast
Within 48 hours on a first enquiry. On a running mandate, the same or the next working day.
Who works in your account
I do, with my own access. Every bid and structure change is logged and open for you to read.
What happens when I am away
I tell you in advance and leave the accounts in a state that runs without daily intervention; you can still reach me. What I do not offer is a stand-in who knows your account as well as I do. That is the honest flip side of always dealing with the same person.

Process

How we work together

Four steps from the first conversation to ongoing optimisation.

01 — Introduction

Free intro call

We talk through your situation, goals and channels. Openly and without sales pressure.
02 — Analysis

Account audit

I go through your accounts, listings and tracking and tell you where the levers are — including when the honest answer is that the effort is not worth it.
03 — Offer

Individual package

You get a tailored offer. No standard package, only what actually fits.
04 — Delivery

Optimisation & reporting

Direct implementation, every change in the account logged. Plus a report that prepares a decision instead of stacking numbers.
Working together

How billing works

So you do not have to guess. Which form it takes we settle in the intro call.

Monthly retainer

from €300 / month
Ongoing support with a fixed scope. The usual form when an account runs continuously. The price covers a single product group or site.

Fixed-price project

by scope
For self-contained tasks: account build, audit, a listing package, launching on a new marketplace.

By the hour

€90 / hour
When the scope is not clear up front, or when it is only about individual questions to begin with. For ongoing work I usually recommend a package or a share instead.

Performance share

by agreement
On request, in addition, tied to a goal we agree on beforehand.

No minimum term. Cancellable monthly to the end of the month. Payment due 14 days net. Which form fits your case is something we settle in the intro call — my recommendation usually goes to a package or a share, because then both sides are chasing the same goal.

Honestly, up front

When I am not the right fit

Better settled now than in the third conversation.

An advertising budget from around €1,000 per month makes management considerably easier, because only then does enough data accumulate to calculate bids rather than guess them. That is a recommendation, not a condition — with a narrow range, less can work too.

Common questions

What usually comes up before the first call

How do we measure whether it works?

That is the first question I ask you — and it has more than one right answer. For one business success means more revenue, for another a higher contribution margin at the same revenue, a particular ACOS, more qualified enquiries, entering a new country, or organic growth that holds up once advertising stops.

Some of those goals pull against each other: chasing maximum revenue means a different course from steering on margin. So before the first change we fix which number counts and the corridor it should stay in. Everything else follows from that — and that is what you can hold me to.

What does working together cost?

Ongoing management starts at €300 per month for a single product group or site; with scope and number of channels it grows from there. Individual hours are €90. Defined pieces of work — account build, audit, launch on a new marketplace — get a fixed price, with a success share on top if you want one.

You get an offer after the audit, because before that there is no honest way to say how much work your account needs. The intro call and the first look into the account cost nothing.

How long am I tied in?

Not at all. There is no minimum term, you can cancel monthly to the end of the month. Realistically a restructuring needs two to three months before the effect can be read cleanly — but that is an expectation, not a contract.

Do I need a particular advertising budget?

There is no hard floor. From around €1,000 per month management gets considerably easier, because enough clicks and orders accumulate to calculate bids rather than estimate them. Below that every decision takes longer, because the data is thin. It is not impossible.

What happens to my account if we stop?

It stays yours, in full and without a waiting period. I work with access you grant and can withdraw at any time — never through an agency account you would later have to extract your campaigns from. Campaign structure, naming logic and rule set live in your account.

On handover I write up for you or your successor how the account is built and what the ongoing decisions hang on. I have done that on closed mandates too.
